At a business meeting, 26-year-old Tsugumi Kawana faces the biggest surprise in her life: she is reunited with Itsuki Ayukawa, a former high school friend and her first love. She is elated that Ayukawa has been able to achieve his dream of becoming an architect, while she herself has secured a stable job at an interior design company. As they reminisce about the past, Tsugumi is shocked to find out Ayukawa has been disabled following an accident. Unable to walk on his own, he now has to rely on the use of a wheelchair. Tsugumi knows that dating a disabled person is a complex matter; moreso, she does not want to ruin her friendship with Ayukawa, who refuses to be romantically involved with anyone. However, as she begins to interact with him more and learns about his condition, Tsugumi realizes her feelings for him may not have disappeared entirely. Review![]()
2025/07/08 Chapter 33: This storyline with Koreeda and Kawana dating is starting to feel very drawn out and I'm at the point where I kind of want to DNF. It's at the point where Koreeda has been with Kawana longer than she was with Ayukawa. My feelings on the matter are only made worse by how I resolutely feel that they should just start a polycule. I feel like I'm banging my head against the wall waiting for something to change. I was really excited to read this manga since it was recommended in My Girlfriend's Child but now I'm just disappointed. I think one of my big problems is that I went into this expecting something akin to My Girlfriend's Child, which is a series that commits to its main relationship and doesn't stray the path, nor does it daddle on with pointless relationship drama, instead cutting to the meat of its subject matter. Perfect World isn't like that. My favorite parts of this manga are the parts that focus on things like Kawana training to be a caregiver, Ayukawa and Kawana accepting that they can't do everything themselves and asking Koreeda and Nagasawa for help, and Ayukawa working on accessible housing projects, but then the love square drama just keeps getting in the way of this.
